Winterfest and what not

Well it was another fun year at Winterfest. I got to meet some new folks, and see some other familiar faces from around the southeast. My buddy Kris is in town for a week or so from the navy, and we have been catching up. I got to see some awesome basketball skills at our guys' intramural game Sunday night. I kept stats for them for a game, which made watching even more fun. I also saw the Book of Eli in theaters and it was really good.

Snow Day

We had a blast at mom and dads. Avery made snow angels. We threw snowballs at each other. Dad had a sled we used for about half an hour on the icy road. I even broke out the skiis. Then I cam in and got caught up on homework.

It's always nice to be remind that God is the creator and how powerful he is. We make plans he changes them with His snow (or rain or whatever.) I get so consumed with planning and trying to control things, then God reminds me it is His time, His will, and Him who is in charge.

1st Run

So Dad and I ran for the first time today. We made it over a mile in a bit 9:30 mins, which isn't horrible.

Break down the run:

Cons: It took me over 3 hrs for my lungs to recover. (I have a cold and have asthma, so it was to be expected). I have run in over a year so it wasn't horrible. I didn't make it very far.

Pros: I made it further than I thought I would. Where we ran it is a running surface, but is not an oval track and has hills, so it is a good practice for the 5k.

On a completely different note the NBC shows were hilarious tonight. The Office had tons of good one liners. I made baked spaghetti for tv night.

Running a 5K

I think I am planning on running my first 5K. It is the "Take back the Night 5K" in Clemson and it's Friday, April 16, 2010 at 7 p.m. My first training run is supposed to be tomorrow for a 1.5 mile run. I figured since I am starting to run after a year I might as well start to blog after a year. I get a shirt for giving them 10 bucks and running 3 miles, sounds like a steal.

Also had fun visiting friends from here to Searcy, Arkansas. My buddy Josh Carillon got married this past Saturday and it was a fun 3 day trip.
