Mexico

It's been a quick week, and our group is of to Mexico early Monday morning. The student center is coming along, and as soon as we get back we will paint the last room. Another cool thing is on Sunday mornings with the high schoolers I am reading Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. The discussion has been really good, and I am enjoying the book even more the second time around. Be praying for us, and the people we will be serving this week. One fun thing is on Saturday when we get back we will see the Braves at the Padres baseball game.

People

A lot of times in life I think we get frustrated with how people can treat us, and just how rude people can be. I find working at the church that there are all kinds of people in this world. I also have thought recently that people are one of God's true gifts. Since one of the Elders at church has been in the hospital lately I have been thinking about this. When I finally think I have everything figured out God sends me some new relationship to remind me that in life we are constantly learning. When I need to have a good laugh or someone to joke with Malcolm is always there. Just like when my family needed my dad back to help with Heath God brought him back. It's amazing how God brings people in my life just when I needed them.

On a lighter note, coming soon to the blog is reviews of several movies I have seen in the last week and the top ten movies of all time.

Tattoo

I got my second tattoo on Tuesday. Kind of of sore. But it looks really good. It was also a good bonding experience with my buddy Kris Patterson, who got ink work done on his back for three hours.

The building is coming along nicely. The Beckish family, Kris, and Shea have been helping Danny and I at the church building. The Kitchen is coming along slowly. We have been trying to work on replacing the electric outlets and switches.

Saw The Love Guru and it was really funny.

Engineers

This year has been pretty cool after camp. I have been in contact with some of the guys almost a week after camp. Usually we come together for a week like brothers then do talk for another 51 weeks. I have talked to a couple of them already, and it is really cool. I think that will be a goal for the year is to try and stay close to my friends at camp. It's odd too that most people would consider working so hard for a week solid torture, but most of us miss it after we are gone.

Paul Murphy is up visiting and helping out with the church remodel. We did a lot of the dining room today. The color is Rich Coral, and makes the room look completely different. Tomorrow Kaitlyn is coming up, and Shaun Bekish will be there to help as well. We are hoping to finish the dining room, and start the kitchen.

Atlanta/Camp

Today I'm in Atlanta with Heath. We are watching a bunch of dvds starting with a cartoon XMen movie. He is doing really well, and looks good. I should be here til Wednesday night, then back to work on the church.

Camp was awesome. The engineers had a lot to do, but as always is way too much fun to think of it as work. Although all that fun made me so exhausted I am still recovering. It could also have a lot to do with Late nights of four square. It also got me a lot more friends of facebook. I always just think of facebook as some way to kill time, but it really is a great networking tool.

Jill started her job yesterday. I think she will really enjoy it. Training is always tough, but she will do a good job managing whichever store Walgreen's puts her at.
